I really liked Stacey and Stanley’s ceremony. Beautiful and simple, it was held at the Prince of Peace Parish in West Bloomfield. The reception, with fabulous music provided by the band Rare Blend, was held in The Atrium at St. John’s Golf & Conference Center in Plymouth. The Atrium has to be seen to be believed! Beth and Bill’s wedding in Royal Oak was threatened by the possibility of rain all day, but just before the ceremony the rain stopped. The wedding was held at Red Run golf club in Royal Oak. THe ceremony was held outside in a tent, and the reception was inside one of Red Run’s banquet rooms. Click HERE to see more of their photos.

Would it rain? Well maybe a little, but just as the reception began the clouds parted. Then a rainbow stretched across the sky behind the dinner hall. Colleen and Anthony had their ceremony at the Dominican Sisters in Oxford, and the reception that followed was held at the BEAUTIFUL Addison Oaks in Lenard. Click HERE to see more of their photos.

Married in a small ceremony, Stephanie and Jeff hosted a family celebration/wedding reception weeks later at the Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston. While a video of their ceremony played, guests roamed the grounds of the mansion before dinner was served. It was a beautiful, sunny April afternoon. Click HERE to see more of their photos.

What a beautiful bride Erin made! Jeff and I had a great time shooting Erin & James’s wedding and reception. Family and friends of the couple joyfully celebrated the marriage into the early hours of morning. Even cloudy, rainy, gloomy weather couldn’t destroy the day. Their ceremony was held in the colorful, stained-glass-lined First Baptist of Royal Oak. There reception was at Barrister Gardens in St. Clair Shores. Click HERE to see more of their photos.

Picking our favorite weddings each year would be like picking your favorite kid. Kelly and I think ALL of our weddings come out great, but we keep talking about the wedding of Andrea and Joe. Photos started with each half of the wedding party separately at the Mill Pond Park in Saline, MI. The ceremony was in the First Assembly of God in Saline and the reception was at Ann Arbor’s famous Weber’s Inn. In between the ceremony and reception the bridal party hung-out in the University of Michigan’s scenic “Law Quad”. Andrea and Joe also had a Trolley service driving the wedding party around all day! 082705 - Teri and Jeff

Teri and Jeff’s wedding is the first post on this blog for a couple reasons. First, it just happens to be on my mind today and second, they were nice enough to write us a little testimonial…

“If you are wondering whether you should hire Jeffrey Lewis Bennett as your photographer, the answer is, yes. We found Jeff and Kelly extremely easy to work with. Our ceremony and reception were in downtown Detroit at Central United Methodist Church and The Gem Theatre. I actually was a little late for the start of our pictures due to I-75 being closed and Woodward Ave. being under construction. Jeff got stuck in the same traffic, too, but he had figured in enough time to still make it on time for the start of pictures and got to work right away with my husband. Even though the girls started a little behind, Jeff remained calm and never made us feel rushed. He still made sure that we got every one of the pictures that we had requested. All of our wedding party really found Jeff easy to work with and that helped us all enjoy the event.

Jeff was there from the very start of our day to the end of the reception. Most of the time, he just blended in, but was capturing candid moments all day. He or Kelly would ask about specific shots we wanted from time to time. We would take the picture and then were able to quickly resume enjoying ourselves. We never felt as if we were being taken away from our guests.

We were so happy with how our photos turned out. Our wedding had a lot of little details and Jeff managed to capture all of them. We had asked for a group photo of all of our guests, and Jeff got the picture back to us in just a few days so that we could have it printed as our thank you card. We were amazed at how beautiful the church and reception site looked in our photos. We also loved some of the effects he used with preparing our photos. Overall, working with Jeff was a great experience and we recommend him to everyone we can.” - Teri and Jeff
