Howell Opera House – Retro Michigan Wedding
Retro Style Wedding at the Opera House in Howell, MI
Melanie & Jordan had their ceremony and reception in Howell, MI at the historic downtown Opera House. This Opera Theater was originally built in 1881 is now available for special events. The Bride & Groom made all their own decorations. The bride even baked the wedding cake that morning! We had the pleasure of working with the very creative team of film makers from Documentary Incorporated, they even shot some on 8mm! This wedding was also featured in the Winter/Spring 2012 issue of Metro Detroit Bride Magazine.

Vintage Style Michigan Wedding in the woods
Jen and her ladies got ready at Downtown Rochester’s Royal Park Hotel. Their ceremony was held out in the woods at Stoney Creek Metropark. It was SO COOL. I thought a little vintage stylized cross-processing would complement the forest. Reception followed in a tent on the lake there at Stoney Creek. Live Band provided by the groom’s friends.

Kristi and Dave were so much fun to shoot. They had a ceremony at Lakeside Bible Chapel & Reception at Sycamore Hills Golf. Just before leaving for their honeymoon they changed clothes and ran through a tunnel of giant sparklers. The One with the Balloons – 081210
Jen and Mike got engaged. We did these engagement photos in Northville’s Mill Race Village. I brought some balloons just for fun. I’ll get to photograph their wedding next June.
Rain at Cherry Creek – 073110
Jill and Justin held their ceremony & reception at Cherry Creek Golf in Shelby Twp. Rain threatened the outside ceremony but held off till right in the middle of our romantic shots of the bride & groom. The rain didn’t stop anyone from having a great day. This wedding’s gorgeous flowers were done by Creative Events. I highly recommend them.

Westin Book Cadillac Classic – 072410
Sarah and Matt had their ceremony and reception at the Westin “Book Cadillac” in Detroit. The wedding party had a chance to visit a tiger’s game after the ceremony. Cheryl Donovan from Emerald City Designs was a huge help at making the day run smooth.

Rain moved Mel & Chris’s ceremony inside the Rochester historical museum at Van Hoosen Farm but didn’t hurt the fun. The party continued under a tent on the lakeshore of Stoney Creek metro park.

Jessica and Tim had their summer ceremony at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer. The party continued with dinner & dancing at Golden Hawk Golf Club in Casco Township.

Theresa and Jake held their ceremony at Calvary Missionary Church in Livonia. The wedding party visited Rotary park in Livonia then downtown Plymouth’s Kellogg Park for a few photos after the ceremony. The day concluded with a reception at the Meeting House Grand Ballroom.

Jamie and Dave got married on a perfect Michigan day at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Royal Oak. Their day continued with a WILD party in Madison Heights at Club Venetian.

Liz and Nick chose the the BEAUTIFUL Addison Oaks Country Park in Lenard (just north of Rochester) for their wedding and reception. Addison Oaks has too many great photo spots to count.

Lindsay and Alex were married at St. Thomas Church of Ann Arbor. Before the wedding all the ladies had their hair and makeup done at Tricho Salon & Spa of Brairwood (ask for Liberty). The reception following was held at Barton Hills Country Club. We also had the pleasure of working with our videographer friends from Epicmotion.com. Their amazing wedding cake was made by The Wedding Cake Art & Design Center.

Marie and Dave were married in the courtyard of the Kensington Court Hotel of Ann Arbor. The reception following was held in one of the hotel’s halls. Before the ceremony we took a tour of U of M’s campus for photo stops at the Law Quad and outside The Big House.

Shannon and Ryan were married at First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. The reception following was held in The Atrium at St. John’s Golf & Conference Center in Plymouth. We also had the pleasure of working again with our videographer friends from EPICmotion.com.

Emily and Aaron held their wedding at The Michigan League in the heart of Ann Arbor’s University of Michigan. The reception following was held in the Michigan League’s grand ballroom. We love shooting on U of M’s campus, there’s never a shortage of stunning backdrops.

Brooke and John held their wedding at Waldenwoods in Hartland. Another perfect day for a lake-side Ceremony. Post ceremony they had dinner with their guests in Walenwood’s rustic hall. One of our favorite locations: great food, great sunsets etc. Thanks to the groom this was the first wedding I left soaked in champagne. LOL.

Jessica and Ryan held their wedding at Waldenwoods in Hartland. They had the perfect day for a lake-side Ceremony. Afterwards they enjoyed time with their guests in Walenwood’s rustic hall. This is definitely a location I’d recommend, great food, great sunsets etc. We’re happily shooting another wedding there tomorrow. Side note: during the toasts I heard the best maid-of-honor speech, period.
