Michigan Engagement Sessions

Michigan has so many different location and seasonal options for your engagement session. This is a chance to go to all the places you don’t have time for on your wedding day. Availability for fall can be limited so plan ahead. I recommend April-August.

South-Eastern Michigan Engagement Session

  • $900 booked with any wedding package

  • $1200 purchased separately (October session pricing may be higher due to demand)

  • 2 Hours in SE MI (inquire about other areas)

  • 4 different versions of each image (see the colors page)

  • Teaser images available soon after the session

  • Unlimited Photos (typically between 100-150 finished images)

  • A few Animated GIFs included

  • Digital images included (hi-res, not watermarked)

Interested in doing your engagement photos someplace other than SE-MI?

What else should we know?

  • Evening sessions are almost always better than morning sessions.

  • These sessions do not cover a ceremony or reception.

  • For a couple only. If you want to include more people we’ll have to discuss.

  • Don't bring a tote, bag, purse, extra shoes, etc with you. I can’t carry your things.

  • If you plan on bringing props please run those by me ahead of time.

  • Most couples stick with 1-2 outfits. If you want to make an outfit change we’ll need to plan for getting back to your clothes mid-way through the session.

  • Do not bring your extra attire with you.

  • The time you are changing does eat into the session.

  • When picking outfits don’t do some wild new style that isn’t you.

  • Non transferring lip color is required, test this days ahead.

  • Do not do a facial treatment or peel just days or hours before your session.

  • Avoid getting a sunburn before your session and don’t use self tanner.

  • If you are late to the session you will likely be in a terrible mood.

  • Dresses: flowing is better than tight and make sure it's not long enough to trip over.

  • Comfortable shoes. We walk a lot and I’ll ask you to dance.

  • Contrast is good. Let's discuss if you have a matchy idea.

  • Some plain white button-ups appear shiny / blue in photos.

  • Some glasses are a problem for photos. Please no transitions or blue-light glasses (clean your glasses).

  • If you wish to include your own videographer we’ll need to discuss.

  • No one else should be tagging along with you with the exception of a driver or a pet wrangler.

  • Dogs are the best, bring your dogs and a pet wrangler person. We’ll start with the dogs, then send them home.

Will you cover a surprise proposal?

First consider this: the person that doesn't know it's coming might not love being in a photoshoot without planning hair/makeup/outfit, or picking the photographer. It might be better to have friends capture the proposal and schedule a professional session later.

Will we like how we look?

Maybe, maybe not. Unfortunately, body image issues seem to be more common these days. Do you generally not like photos of yourself? Do you regularly use beauty filters on yourself in apps? If so working with me might leave you feeling that you don’t look like your idea of yourself.

I don’t do a lot of heavy retouching so make an effort on hair, makeup, and attire (without trying something wildly new).

While I work to capture everyone at their best I believe addressing one’s self-esteem will go further than any makeup, pose, or photoshop. You are beautiful, Love yourself.
